CANYONING ACQUETTA
Canyoning Acquetta: the true canyoning of Lunigiana between rope rappels, jumps and natural toboggans.
It borns directly on the Apennines ridge near the pass of Badignana on 1.700 meters above sea level between Mount Matto and Mount Brusà and goes down towards Bagnone in Lunigiana. This torrent is dug into the sandstone, typical of this area, an ancient very rough rock with brown color; due to this very hard rock, the torrent has a plenty of pools those can be reached with the aid of the rope, sliding along toboggans or directly jumping. It is therefore a very playful and aquatic path. It is also a very open and sunny canyon, with only some few narrow parts.
The canyoning has recently been re-equipped by our team, making some passages and rappels safer and funny.
DIFFICULTY LEVEL
Easy to medium, kids of 16 years or older, you need to know how to swim.
To reach the access of the torrent we have to walk on trail for about 40 minutes.
THE PRICE INCLUDES
Guiding by a Mountain Guide specialized on canyoning, hiring of hooded 5 mm wetsuit and 3 mm neoprene socks, helmet, harness and safety slings with carabiners.
MINIMUM PEOPLE

NECESSARY STUFF
Swimsuit, a pair of shoes to be used in the river (better hiking shoes with Vibram sole, or in any case sneakers), spare shoes, towel.
Note on shoes: do not take old shoes that you had in lumber-room for several years, the sole tends to separate immediately in contact with water. In less than 2 minutes you will find yourself barefoot. A good pair of recent shoes will make you enjoy your experience and they don’t ruin in only a canyon descent.

Meeting in Bagnone (MS) at 9.30 am (in the square in front of the theater). Duration of the activitiy about 3.5 hours.

AFTER THE CANYONING
Possibility to book a typical Lunigiana “snack” based on herbal pies, ideal to regenerate after the descent of the canyon and also the possibility to buy in the village the typical “testaroli” and the bread baked on chestnut leaves, another specialty of this area.
